Bring the world into your home
Living with a host family is not only an opportunity for our students to learn to speak fluent English, it's a unique opportunity for them to learn about the local culture at first hand. Taking part in an international exchange is a great investment in their future. At InterStudies, we are passionate about providing young people with this opportunity, and we are grateful for the amazing contribution our host families make to our programme.
An experience for the whole family
Hosting a student is a great opportunity for your family. Our host families come in all shapes and sizes, and reflect the modern society that we live in. Some of our families have young children, and choosing to host an international student can be a great opportunity to teach younger children about other countries and the world around them. For families with teenagers, hosting can be a great opportunity to make international friends, practice language skills and learn about other countries and cultures. Hosting is also a great opportunity for families who don't have children at home - to bring life and laughter into their home and to learn about the world, while giving a young person the opportunity to experience your culture.
The benefits of hosting go far beyond the student and your family. Our students become members of the local community, attending the local school, and making friends with local students. This is a great opportunity for all to learn about different cultures, and develop greater cultural understanding.
Our students come from all over the world, and when they go home, they take this cultural understanding with them, sharing their experiences of our culture in the UK and Ireland with their friends and family at home.
We are here to support you
Hosting a student is a great opportunity, and we are here to help you and your student make the most of it. Each student and host family has a Local Support Coordinator, who is there to help and advise throughout the programme. Our network of support coordinators is backed up by our head office team, who are always happy to help and advise our students and host families.
